The more our physical health thrives, the better our mental health will be. Physical affection has been associated with lowered heart rates and blood pressure, which can be beneficial to one’s overall cardiovascular health. It has also been associated with a boosted immune system and shown to help with pain relief.

It Can Lessen the Symptoms of Depression

When we are lacking in physical touch, we can experience several negative feelings. Those who are lacking in physical touch often find themselves struggling with symptoms of depression. Those with depressive symptoms also tend to crave physical touch more.

Loneliness can leave one experiencing a wide range of negative emotions. Fortunately, physical touch has been shown to significantly reduce feelings of loneliness in many people.
